Our Story.

Food has always been at the heart of my life. I grew up in a food-centric family; my mum an amazing baker, cook, and host, and my dad the chief of the washing up! Meal times around the table were always special, bringing family and friends together. From as young as I can remember, I’ve felt at home in a kitchen, creating dishes to share with good folk.

After school, I was pushed toward university, a path that never truly fit. I decided instead to try my hand at cheffing, studying professional cookery at Bath College while working in a local pub. I loved the craft, but I quickly realised the lifestyle of a chef wasn’t for me. Rather than pursuing food as a career, I chose to keep it as a passion.

Life then took me on a decade-long adventure through the golf industry, including years working and travelling abroad. When COVID hit, I returned to the UK from New Zealand, jobless and back at my parents’ house. That’s when I bought my first Big Green Egg Minimax. That summer, I became obsessed with fire cooking, trying every dish possible for my family. (It was also during the second lockdown that I met Annie — but that’s a story for another time!)

Though I slipped back into the golf world, something kept pulling at me: the desire to create something of my own, to find a healthier balance of work and life, and to reconnect with the joy of cooking. Fast forward a couple of years, and Annie and I have made the leap to Cornwall, a place where we can truly bring our vision to life.

At Fade Projects, our mission is simple: to inspire people to get outside, cook over fire, and connect with food, with nature, and with each other. And to have a damn good time doing it.

Enjoy the journey.
